Empowering Tongan Officials: MTED’s National Seminar on WTO Trade Negotiation Skills

September 24–27, 2024, MTED hosted a National three days Seminar on WTO Trade Negotiation Skills and Agriculture. The seminar was facilitated by esteemed experts from the World Trade Organization (WTO), including Usman Ali Khilji, Edwini Kessie, and Armando Paleaz.

The event brought together representatives from various ministries, focusing on crucial topics such as the Theory and Practice of Trade Negotiations and Negotiating Techniques. Participants gained valuable insights into modern negotiation strategies, enhancing their ability to engage in international trade discussions.

In her remarks, MTED CEO, Mrs. Distaquaine Tuihalamaka emphasized that this workshop would greatly benefit those who travel overseas on official duties, equipping them to negotiate effectively with relevant partners and donors on behalf of the Government.

MTED remains committed to empowering government workers with the skills and knowledge needed for effective trade negotiations, fostering inclusive prosperity for Tonga.
